2. Entrepreneurs (Business start-up)

Programs available under the entrepreneur category are generally targeted at immigrant applicants with the skills and potential to create innovative businesses in Canada that can create jobs for Canadians and compete globally. In some programs, immigrant entrepreneurs will be linked to private Canadian angel investor groups or venture capital fund organizations that have experience with start-ups and can provide critical resources.
The requirements for these programs vary from province to province and generally include a level of English and/or French language proficiency, equity investment, and some entrepreneurial experience.

3. Self-employed workers

The self-employed category is intended for business immigrants who have the potential to make a significant contribution to the cultural or artistic life of Canada. Applicants must generally have relevant experience and the intention and ability to be self-employed and make a significant contribution to specific economic activities in Canada.
Applicants must also meet selection criteria based on a point system.
